Weekly Engineering Impact

What Engineering shipped for Zig this week

Engineering's progress this week across product, customer operations, and reliability — what we delivered and what's coming next.
Jul 2 – Jul 9, 2026 · Compiled from GitHub, Slack, Notion and Sentry12 features shipped
Android
Zig is live on the Google Play Store
The Android app is publicly available on Google Play. Zig.AI is now accessible on Android for the first time.
Lead Intelligence
Multiple phone numbers, emails, and cheaper company main lines
Zig now reveals a company's main line phone number at a cheaper enrichment cost, and stores every phone number and email address on file for a contact instead of just one — so reps get a reliable fallback and never hit a dead end on a stale number.
Infrastructure
Onboarding calendar sync lag is largely eliminated
Calendar connects no longer flood the Temporal worker queue with hundreds of individual workflows. A single batch workflow per sync keeps the queue fair and onboarding fast — right when it matters most.
Follow-ups
Follow-up emails no longer hallucinate calendar links
AI-generated follow-ups now inject the user's real calendar link whenever scheduling intent is detected — no more invented placeholder URLs. The refinement prompt is also now shown in the composer so reps see exactly what shaped their email.
AI Knowledge Base
Full ICP module shipped — rich personas, per-persona messaging, AI-derived
The Knowledge Base now has a full ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) module: define your buying committee with per-persona messaging, value props, objections, and proof points. Zig AI derives a complete ICP draft from your product catalog with one click.
Today Page
New reply, no-show, and no-reply badges on the Today page
Action cards on the Today page now surface status badges so reps immediately see which contacts need attention. Calendar view fixed to 12hr, and list/card view on leads now persists while navigating.
Reliability
Follow-ups stay up under load, and failures no longer hide
The slow email-drafting step that caused the July 7 incident can no longer freeze the whole automation system. Failed actions — CRM updates, replies, follow-ups, card actions — now surface immediately as "Failed" with a retry, instead of sitting stuck for an hour or closing as if they'd succeeded.
Lead Search & Calls
Every contact is now findable, and every call is a first-class activity
Contacts with no list (like imported leads) used to be invisible in search — now search returns matching contacts and lead lists. Calls also get proper treatment on the activity timeline: a correctly labeled "Call follow-up" card, the right recipient, and a transcript preview on hover.

🎯 Inbound Automation — Website Visitor to Live Outreach
Launching tomorrow
A generic, config-driven Inbound Automation pipeline is landing tomorrow. Website visitors captured via the RB2B pixel are identified, enriched, qualified against ICP + free-text criteria, routed to the right segment, assigned to a rep, and enrolled into that rep's own live outreach campaign — with no CRM required to start.
Led by Preetham Reddy · with Lavish Mantri, Jaskaran, Piyush Bhopalka
👤 Rich Contact Info in a Unified Contact Panel
Shipped
One consistent contact panel now lives across every surface in the app — replacing two diverging containers that had fallen out of sync. It surfaces richer identity data, including career and employment history when available, and shows custom fields from all lead lists.
Led by Karthick Sankar
📞 Multiple Emails and Phone Numbers per Contact
Shipped
Contacts previously stored a single email and phone number, which was lossy — enrichment providers return multiple addresses and numbers. Zig now stores and displays every one, with labels and a primary designation.
Led by Karthick Sankar
🏢 Company Main Line Phone Numbers — Cheaper Enrichment
Shipped
Zig can now reveal a company's main line phone number, enriched at a cheaper cost than before.

🔄 Follow-up Emails Send Reliably Under Load
Shipped
A slow email-drafting step could freeze the automation system and stop follow-up emails from going out — the root cause of the July 7 incident. Fixed so one slow draft can no longer stall everything else. The Send button on a follow-up also now disables (with a hint) when there's no recipient, while Save as Draft / Dismiss stay available.
Led by Sharath Savasere
⚠️ Failed Actions No Longer Look Stuck
Shipped
When an agent action (CRM update, email reply, follow-up) errors, it now surfaces immediately as "Failed" with the reason — instead of sitting as "in progress" for around an hour. Card actions (send email, CRM update, WhatsApp, launch outreach) that fail to submit now keep the modal open with an inline error and a retry option, instead of closing as if they'd succeeded.

🔍 Every Contact Is Now Findable in Leads Search
Shipped
Previously a contact that belonged to no list — like an imported lead — was invisible to search. Search now returns both matching contacts and lead lists.
Led by Sharath Savasere
☎️ Calls Are Now First-Class Activities
Shipped
Post-call analysis used to create a mislabeled "meeting" follow-up card with a dead link and a broken recipient. Now every call lands on the activity timeline, generates a proper "Call follow-up" card that links to the call log with the right recipient, and the call transcript previews on hover.
Led by Sharath Savasere
📅 Batch Calendar Events
Shipped
Calendar connect and disconnect events now batch into a single workflow per sync instead of spawning hundreds of individual workflows — fixing the visible onboarding lag during live customer calls.
Led by Sudhanshu
📱 Android App — Google Play
Live
Zig.AI is now publicly available on the Google Play Store. The Android app is approved and live.
Led by Jaskaran · with Piyush
✉️ Follow-up Email Intelligence
Shipped
Two follow-up email improvements shipped: AI-generated follow-ups no longer invent calendar links (the real link is injected when scheduling intent is detected), and the refinement prompt that shaped the email is now visible in the composer.
Led by Jaskaran
🧠 KB ICP Targeting
Shipped
A full ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) module shipped under Settings → Knowledge Base → Personas & ICP. Define your buying committee with rich personas (economic, operational, technical), per-persona messaging, and named target companies. Zig AI derives a complete draft from your product catalog and lets you refine it.
Led by Preetham Reddy
🗓️ Today Page & UX
Shipped
Three UX improvements shipped: status badges on Today page action cards, 12hr calendar view, and persistent list/card view on the leads page. Post-meeting notification experience is also being planned.
Led by Rohit Nayak
✍️ Outreach Message Quality Overhaul
Pending deploy
A major system prompt overhaul for outreach campaign generation is landing this week. Tighter personalization guidance, explicit slot placement, shorter emails by default, and campaign-goal instructions that now apply pipeline-wide.
